John Denver is a popular artist and musician who has been able to touch many through his music. A lot of them have roots in Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in the love of Colorado and eventually relocated to Aspen. Denver's songs for his home state have attracted many people to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the hall's curator of fame, said: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver was the Hall of Fames' initial inductee, was honoured by the honor in 2011. For many, Denver is the Colorado image. If you travel with me, you may meet people at opposite sides of the world. As an example, you might meet people who is from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're from Colorado people will respond with "Oh John Denver!" Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint with folk bands, was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff originally wrote it with Johnny Cash's music with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver was aware from the very first time he heard the earlier versions that it was going to be an instant success. A few days after singing to an enthusiastic crowd on the streets of Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
